FreshPowder: post from anywhere

Once upon a time in a place far far away there lived a... Ok get the point this is the story of FreshPowder and how it came to be.

In the beginning

FreshPowder started on the 22nd of December 2009 by Tristan Jud. Spending so much time in an email client he thought there should be away of posting to your blog. Turns out there were but there didn't seem to be anything that really suited him. After playing with some hosted apps he looked for away to build his own. Surfing the web late at night he came across Easymoblog which had stopped development. Further research showed a branch of that application called CoMoBlog which also had stopped development.

A quick email to Mark Wallis (lead developer of CoMoBlog) and FreshPowder was born as the official successor of CoMoBlog.

So what is FreshPowder

It's a tumblelogging application. That allows you to email posts to a specific email address of your choosing. Our aim over the next few months is to release an up-to-date tumblelogging application which will have a core of posting via email, but will also have a very competent web based workflow.

There is no post to big or small for a FreshPowder tumblelog. That's the way we like it.

In future versions we hope to include static pages, tags and other elements that you would expect from a powerful blogging/cms application.
